Rayonier Inc. (Rayonier) is a timberland real estate investment trust (REIT). The Company holds assets located in the softwood timber growing regions in the United States and New Zealand. The Company’s business segments include Southern Timber, Pacific Northwest Timber, New Zealand Timber, Real Estate, and Trading. The Southern Timber, Pacific Northwest Timber and New Zealand Timber segments include all activities related to the harvesting of timber and other non-timber income activities. The Real Estate segment includes all United States and New Zealand land or leasehold sales disaggregated into six sales categories: improved development, unimproved development, rural, timberland and non-strategic, conservation easements, and large dispositions. The Trading segment primarily reflects log trading activities in New Zealand and Australia conducted by its New Zealand subsidiary. The Company also has commercial timberlands located in Texas, Georgia, Alabama, and Louisiana.
